What this role is all about:
The PR Manager plays a vital role in the delivery of the PR and media strategy for the organisation, protecting and enhancing the reputation of Vitality, and helping us to tell our story effectively across consumer, corporate and trade media audiences.
Key Actions
- Support the development of the PR plan across the Vitality portfolio of products, for consumer, corporate and trade markets
- Develop and deliver the strategy and trade media approach for one of our business lines
- Creating campaigns, media releases and comment to drive favourable awareness of our products, services, partnerships and core purpose across audiences, aligned to business objectives
- Management of an optimised press office, creating frequent, quality based coverage
- Establish and maintain strong connections with journalists and key media outlets
- Guardianship of brand and responsibility for adherence to regulatory guidelines and tone of voice
- Continual evaluation and reporting of campaign performance, including coverage and quality
- Support and manage PR agencies
- Assist with the reactive crisis communications plan, and any response, and manage reputational risk, including supporting issue management
- Continual integration of earnt media content, with related channels, including social media and SEO
- Media horizon and coverage scanning, keeping the business up to date with coverage relevant to them, and anticipating coverage relevant to the business
What do you need to thrive?
- Demonstrable experience of writing compelling press releases and articles in the voice of the business and stakeholders
- Experience of devising and delivering media campaigns
- Confident and articulate communicator and influencer
- Demonstrable writing skills, with a focused approach to output and quality
- PR experience in a fast-paced organisation
- Ability to coordinate press office and media relations
- Confidence in engaging and challenging senior stakeholders
- Ability to work with complex information and distil into PR hooks that will attract media coverage and build brand awareness and reputation
