Working Pattern - Hybrid – 2 days per week in the Vitality London Office. Full time, 37.5 hours per week.

Top 3 skills needed for this role:
- Practising Solicitor or Barrister with 2 to 3 years’ PQE. Open to candidates in other Commonwealth jurisdictions
- Ability to be able to communicate effectively internally and externally at all levels
- Comfortable working to tight deadlines with loosely defined and changing internal briefs
What this role is all about:
Varied role across multiple business units, supporting the Vitality business by providing high quality legal services, with a focus on supporting the sales and product distribution function of the business, working on the company’s intellectual property portfolio, providing contract support to the marketing and sponsorships team, providing general advice on a range of contracts and commercial matters, and assisting the claims team and with any litigation as necessary. The role involves building a function that generates trust and confidence within its stakeholders and providing support to the Legal Team. This position will be primarily UK-focussed, but with opportunity for the role to expand into Vitality’s global business and international markets.
Key Actions
- Reviewing and drafting a range of contracts, including: insurance distribution agreements; IT and intellectual property agreements; marketing and sponsorship agreements; general third party supplier agreements
- Working closely with external counsel on the company’s intellectual property portfolio
- Where necessary, providing support to Vitality’s claims function in relation to health and life insurance matters, as well as supporting on any litigation which may arise
- Provide advice and support to all areas of the business including up to executive level and for the following business units: Sourcing (Procurement); Insurance Distribution; IT; Claims; Marketing and Sponsorships
- Undertake legal research as required
- Reviewing and drafting a range of documentation, including terms and conditions, product documentation and marketing materials
- Promoting and representing the Legal function across the organisation, ensuring strong working relationships between Legal and the whole of the Vitality business
