At Vitality, we’re committed to diversity and inclusion. Because it’s good for our employees, for our business, and for society.

We want all our great people to bring all of themselves to work, so that they can liberate the best in themselves. We know that diversity fosters innovation, which is part of our DNA. And inclusive diversity promotes social cohesion, which benefits society.

Diversity and inclusion also chime with our shared value model. They echo our core purpose, which is to make people healthier and enhance and protect their lives. Diversity and inclusion are also called out in our values.

Closing the pay gap

We are signatories to the Women in Finance Charter and the Race at Work Charter. Our gender pay gap is shrinking, and low by sector standards, and we're making good progress towards our target of gender parity at senior levels by 2025.

60%

We’re achieving our target of 60% female appointments to higher paying roles.

10%

We have reduced our gender pay gap by more than 10% since 2018.

“D&I at Vitality is all about promoting and celebrating our differences to create a great working environment...

This is what helps drive our success and reinforces our values of ‘Great people’ and ‘Liberating the best in our people’. We aim to provide great opportunities for personal and professional growth which deliver success for our employees, and great outcomes for our members and Vitality. Diversity and inclusion yield great richness when embraced positively - everybody wins.”

- Deepak Jobanputra, Chair of the ‘Let’s Talk Race’ forum.

Championing positive change

We’ve rolled out a raft of initiatives to promote diversity and inclusion at Vitality.

Training and mentoring

We’re proud to be part of the 10000 Intern Foundation, championing under-represented talent at scale.

Annual diversity and inclusion training is offered to all our employees, and we’ve rolled out unconscious bias training for managers.

We encourage women and ethnic minority employees to take part in our mentoring programmes. And we’ve launched a leadership development programme in partnership with everywoman.

Facilitating mobility

Gender and ethnicity are a focus in succession planning at Vitality.

We offer flexible working options, equal parental leave for both parents, and fertility and menopause support benefits.

Promoting inclusion

We have a business-wide network of diversity and inclusion champions, and forums for women and ethnic minority employees.

We also supported a campaign to make ethnicity pay gap reporting mandatory.
