What this role is all about:
We’re looking for an Enterprise Architect to shape the target architecture and technology direction for Vitality’s global product ecosystem. Working across Global Product Delivery, Global Architecture and Vitality’s markets, the role will translate business strategy into practical architecture roadmaps, strengthen governance and guide investment decisions that improve resilience, reuse, scalability and long-term value.
Key Actions
- Define and maintain Vitality’s current-state, target-state and transition architecture across global products, platforms, data, integration, security and technology
- Translate business strategy and capability priorities into practical architecture roadmaps that guide portfolio investment, delivery sequencing and technical debt reduction
- Provide strategic architecture leadership across global and market teams, aligning technology decisions with customer needs, commercial outcomes and enterprise direction
- Establish proportionate, risk-based architecture governance with clear decision rights, assurance criteria, delegated authority and escalation routes
- Identify architectural dependencies, duplication, obsolescence and concentration risks while creating opportunities for cross-market reuse and interoperability
- Guide complex decisions where market requirements, global product objectives and enterprise standards compete, presenting clear options, impacts and recommendations
- Maintain an enterprise architecture risk view covering resilience, security, data, integration, vendors, scalability, operability and architectural debt
- Build trusted relationships with CIOs, senior leaders, customers and delivery teams, communicating complex technology decisions in clear business terms
- Develop robust business cases that demonstrate the value, cost, risk, scalability and sustainability of technology investments and transformation initiatives
- Build a federated architecture community that strengthens decision quality, shared practices, reusable knowledge and collaboration across markets
What do you need to thrive?
- Substantial senior architecture experience within a complex global or federated organisation
- Proven experience creating target architectures and transition roadmaps that influence investment and delivery decisions
- Strong knowledge across enterprise, solution, application, integration, data, platform, cloud and security architecture
- Extensive experience in architecture governance, portfolio planning, technology risk and executive-level decision support
- Ability to resolve competing priorities and lead across markets, functions and delivery teams through influence rather than hierarchy
- Strong commercial judgement across lifecycle cost, vendor selection, reuse, technical debt and build-versus-buy decisions
- Clear executive communication with the ability to present evidence, trade-offs and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences
- Relevant degree or equivalent professional experience, with a recognised architecture certification such as TOGAF advantageous
