What this role is all about:
Vitality is seeking a Procurement Business Partner to join the Procurement team, supporting the People and Property portfolios. This role is responsible for partnering with business stakeholders to shape sourcing strategies, manage supplier relationships, negotiate commercial agreements and deliver value across a diverse range of business services spend. Working closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers and procurement colleagues, the position plays an important role in ensuring commercial decisions support business objectives, operational performance and regulatory expectations.
Key Actions
- Develop trusted partnerships with stakeholders across People and Property functions to understand business priorities and translate requirements into effective sourcing strategies
- Lead end-to-end procurement activities including requirements gathering, market engagement, supplier evaluation, negotiation, contracting, onboarding and implementation
- Identify opportunities to improve value through cost optimisation, supplier consolidation, service enhancements, innovation and risk management
- Provide market insight and category expertise to support informed procurement and supplier decisions
- Support contract drafting, negotiation and implementation in collaboration with Legal and business stakeholders
- Manage supplier relationships with a focus on performance, service delivery, compliance, risk management and continuous improvement
- Monitor supplier performance and assurance activities, proactively identifying and addressing risks and issues
- Manage contracts throughout the lifecycle, ensuring value is maximised and contractual obligations are effectively maintained
- Build strong internal and external relationships while providing constructive challenge and commercial guidance
- Contribute to procurement initiatives and business projects, leading sourcing workstreams from concept through to delivery
What do you need to thrive?
- Experience within a procurement, sourcing or commercial role delivering measurable business value
- Knowledge of indirect spend categories, ideally within business services, people-related services, property or facilities management
- Strong commercial negotiation and supplier management experience
- Understanding of contract management, commercial models, supplier performance frameworks and risk management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make practical recommendations
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building capability across multiple business levels
- Ability to influence, challenge constructively and support decision-making processes
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Commitment to continuous improvement and an interest in leveraging AI-enabled ways of working
- MCIPS qualification, or working towards it, would be advantageous
