What This Role is All About:
This Business Analyst role facilitates the implementation of the Shared-Value Insurance (SVI) model in local markets. This is achieved by producing quality and timely Business Analysis artefacts, utilising a range of techniques and methods to elicit requirements, verify, and trace delivery through the lifecycle of a project.
This role operates under the guidance of the Principal Program Manager, Vitality Asia, and is expected to provide solid central support to both Vitality Asia teams (e.g. in PAHI, AIA, etc.) and senior leaders/executives in Vitality Asia and Discovery Group.
Roles in the Vitality Asia team tend to be dynamic, so you should be comfortable with being pragmatic and flexible about doing whatever is required to deliver genuine and lasting value to the business.
Key Actions:
Business Analysis
- Responsible for the delivery of analysis artefacts (using either Waterfall or Agile methodology) through any channel, providing evidence-backed business analytics and intelligence to Vitality Asia teams and senior leaders
- Documents the business requirements and process flows (as-is and to-be) in the agreed format. Identifies business and organizational impact of proposed change initiatives
- Responsible for ensuring the traceability of requirements to solutions at a Project / initiative level and for any delegated assignments
Stakeholder and Project Management
- Proactively communicates and collaborates with external and internal customers / stakeholders with clarity, to analyses information, functional requirements and business impact
- Adheres to agreed Change Management protocols & processes
- Has a solid working understanding (with practical experience of inputting to / item management) of Project-level risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies (RAID) management principles & techniques and applies them to work
- Raises Project RAID to the Project Manager / Portfolio in a timely manner, offering mitigating actions and taking ownership of individual items where appropriate
Essential Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and proven experience of effective time / priority management
- Has produced 'as is' & 'to be' process models using BPMN 2.0 or similar standards
- Has produced structured requirements outputs, including Use Cases, Business Requirements, Project Progress Reports, Financial Analysis Models, Traceability Metrics
- Proven experience of working collaboratively within a complex matrix management environment
- Ability to stay motivated, pragmatic and focused in high-pressure and challenging environments
- Sensitive to the variety of responses to change, and culturally intelligent - sensitive and adaptable to global and local dynamics
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A clear, concise, and persuasive communicator—both written and verbal
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and ability to embrace the company culture and embed that into day-to-day interactions
- Experience in working in Strategic and Business Analytics Project environments
- Knowledge of Discovery business model, an understanding of the Vitality Shared-Value Insurance model
- Proficient in MS PowerPoint, Excel and Word
- BCS Foundation Certificate or similar business analyst certificate is preferred
